What is diamond colour?
Diamond color is judged by its lack of hue—the more colorless, the more valuable. The GIA’s color scale from D to Z measures this absence of color, with higher grades appearing like pure water. While most color differences are subtle to the untrained eye, pairing a diamond's color with the right metal enhances its brilliance. For instance, yellow gold complements lower-grade diamonds, while white gold highlights higher grades. Fancy-colored diamonds, like Venzora's Yellow Diamond, are exceptions and aren't graded on this scale.
